The Road to Business Success

I’m going to ask you a question. It’s adapted from one I was once asked by entrepreneur guru, Rich Schefren –
‘Which of these attributes most helps you become one of the ‘Elite’ in your business sector? That means the one who’s so successful in terms of performance, financial success and reputation, that other people in the same sector want to emulate you. What would you choose?’

  • Your intelligence?
  • Your knowledge?
  • Your skills?
  • Your luck?
  • Your personality?
  • Your creativity?
  • Your connections?
  • Your experience?
  • Your commitment level?

The right answer is –

None of them.

Oh, they’re all important attributes, of course. They help to determine your potential for success.

But they don’t determine your actual success.

You probably know lots of people who have many of these attributes, but you’d never regard them as very successful. They often languish in ordinary jobs with ordinary pay.

On the other hand, you may also know some people you’d regard as very successful. They also have many of these attributes. But they also have something else as well.

I know from my experience working with clients all over the world that really successful people do have that something extra.

And I’m going to tell you what it is.

And you can get it too. Simply and easily.

But first ask yourself this –

Is your current level of success equal to your potential? Is it what you’re capable of?

If you answer ‘Yes’, then stop reading now. There’s nothing here for you.

However, if like most people, you answer ‘No’ – if you feel you’ve only achieved a fraction of what you’re capable of – then this document will be a windfall for you.

Because by the time you’ve finished reading it, you’ll have a ‘wow’ moment.

You can then take the first step to become the best in your business sector, and leave your competitors way behind.

Specifically, I’m going to show you a simple change in how you think that will open the floodgates of success for you.

You’ll ‘get it’ in seconds because the change will happen in your mind.

You can then crush the obstacles that stop you becoming a star performer, and achieve more personal and professional success than you ever thought possible.

And the secret is –

To make sure that in all your business activities, you consistently add value.

That means everything you do should deliver a service to your customers, external or internal.

Over the years I’ve asked hundreds of people, ‘In your business life, what proportion of your total time is spent on activities that add value by that definition?’

The answers are always the same, no matter their level or function.Between 20% and 50% of their total time at best.

They’re bright, intelligent people, but their busy working livesare crammed full of dysfunctional activities such as pointless meetings, chasing people for information, correcting errors in the information they do get, trying to meet false deadlines, answering spurious emails and social media contacts, etc, etc– activities that simply do not add any value by the definition above.

It leaves them angry and frustrated with their colleagues and with the organisation, and seriously affects their productivity and ability to do satisfying work.

Once they’re shown how to minimise and eliminate these non-value adding activities, and focus on the true value adding activities, they then re-structure their working lives, and reduce the total time spent not adding value to less than 20%.

As a result, they become up to four times more productive than their colleagues, and because they’re contributing so much more, they have much more influence, are promoted more, and their business life and income become immeasurably sweeter.

They also keep their customers, external and internal, much happier, and generate more business and profits for their companies.

They become really successful, influential leaders and powerful change agents. They become the best in their business sector. They become one of the ‘Elite’.

And you can do that too.
